5 Reasons Why You Should Allow Guest Blogging on Your Blog
November 27, 2013 Blogging Guide
With all of the Google updates, link building and guest posting isn’t the same as it was a year ago. A lot of bloggers are starting to head the opposite direction and not allow any more guest posts on their blogs, but they are wrong. Guest posts are great for your blog, just as long as you maintain it and keep a strict policy on the quality of the content. We are going to go over 5 reasons why guest posting is still very effective for your blog.
More Value to Your Readership
When an expert in your niche decides to write on your blog, for whatever reason, this gives your normal audience a bit of a change and a lot of value. Since you will have to pre approve the content, you will be able to make sure that it is relevant and has no grammatical errors. If you find that the quality of the content is bad, don’t accept it! The last thing you want to do is to introduce a guest blogger, only to have them provide horrible content and push your audience away.
You can usually just avoid a lot of time and heartache by just screening any potential guest posters. Go to their blog, see what kind of content they usually put up, check out what kind of audience they have, how successful they have been, etc. Once you have checked up on them, you will usually be able to make up your mind whether or not they will be a good fit for your blog or not.
Create Valuable Relationships
When you have your own website, creating relationships with other bloggers within the same niche can be extremely beneficial. The more you are known, the faster your personal brand gets noticed. After a while, you will be considered and expert within your niche and will have a much easier time finding an audience or getting mentioned in other people’s content.
Link Building Partnerships
Another thing building relationships can be good for is to create a mutually beneficial situation. If you are two bloggers in the same niche, you can easily set up a link building partnership that allows each other to post links within content. This way, it’s not spam, all of the links are relevant, all of the links provide value to the readers, and search engines will love them. There are plenty of different strategies that you can use with a partner that has the some mindset.
You just want to make sure that the partnership doesn’t backfire in the end. Using the links too much or any other bad tactic could end up looking suspicious to search engines, lowering your rankings. A good rule is that as long as the links look natural, they should be posted.
Expanded Audience
When you let someone else post on your blog, not only are your viewers going to be looking at it, but so are the viewers of the guest poster. They will usually link the content to anywhere they can, so you can expect more viewers than normal. This gives your blog much more exposure and could even attract some more regular readers. One thing all blogs need is more readers, so try and convert someone else’s audience into yours.
More Overall Traffic
All in all, more value, a bigger audience, quality content, links, and everything else guest posting brings, these all lead to more traffic. Traffic is the key for the success of our blogs and it is important that we do everything in our power to keep a steady stream of targeted traffic coming in.
While you might not be used to the idea at first of having someone else writing in your blog, once you find that it can help you in the long run, you will no longer have a problem with it. You have total control of every aspect, so you don’t have to deal with bloggers you don’t want to, you won’t need to post content you don’t think is good, and if you just don’t feel comfortable about the situation, then you can always cancel it. There are other benefits for guest posts, but these 5 should be enough to convince you to give it a shot.
Really Nice post which inspires me to allow Guest posting…..Actually I dont want to pass a single backlink to any other website..But passing one or two backlink will not effect you too much ..Really A detailed pOst
Guest blogging is almost always a good thing. For you and your readers. Your readers get different types of writing, and from different authors, and you get more readers from your guest. Relationships get formed with the guest writer and you can have them again. If you also write on their site, you can get readers from there. It’s really hard to lose with this.
In fact guest blogging is still relevant and very important to any blog.
However we must be strict and selective in accepting guest blogging requests.
In short each guest blogging content must have value and high in quality.
Thank you very much for the reasons mentioned above.
